I had the pleasure to attend Myob Partner Connect 2016 with my trainee Faizal.
This was the first ever accounting conference Faizal had ever attended, she was excited and enjoyed the experience.
Faizal also helped me gain a new appreciation through a fresh pair of eyes, it was interesting to see how she got more out of the conference in respect to a learning experience.
The venue was held at the Jupiters Casino with a Gala Dinner and awards night to finish the conference off.
While we attended, we had the opportunity to interview a number of add on specialists who work closely with MYOB products to help small business owners streamline their administrative, payroll and report needs. There were over 30 stalls on the day. I would loved to have chatted with everyone, but that was not possible.
Here is a selection of products and people that I did have the time to interview.

I spoke with Demi Roe on the day about their product and how it can help business owners forecast and manage their cashflow.

The accountant or bookkeeper can work collaboratively to manage a client’s cashflow to grow the business or budget for the future. Reep works on two really simple screens, one is visual and the other gives you a graph of your actual cash flow. Reep with give you monthly notifications to let you know how you are progressing against your budget. It can also give you a forecast on your next 12 months of business. You can even create a budget for 1-5 years depending on what you require. It’s a really simple online software to use and works seamlessly with MYOB.

We are accounts receivable automation, so basically to enable you to focus your attack when it comes to bringing money back to into a small to medium size business, and the way it can help a bookkeeper is that it can enable you to take care of a lot more number of clients rather than just 10 or 15, you can take care of like 30 and 40. This is because the system kind of distills the information down to what’s relevant to action for each of your clients.
Do you have any reporting process involved in this?
Our system notifies you on a daily basis as to what action needs to happen, so for each of your customers, you have to basically setup your own strategic plan like maybe my first follow up should be an email, I will follow that up with an SMS, and then I will follow that up with a phone call by one of your staff or maybe the tradies doing the calls himself, depending on the situation.
Then I will follow up with a letter by post, and then I might escalate to legal end after that. So all of that history is tracked for you so you don’t have to remember things, you don’t have to look through emails, you can go back and check EzyCollect and say right this is what happened, this is what I spoke last, when the next time you call. So it gives you that.
