HR CENTRAL – Your People, Our Solutions with Damien Gooden

When attending MYOB Partner Connect last month I was able to meet a number of add on Partners whose purpose is to remove stress and provide solutions for business owners.
Damien from HR Central provides human relations for small to medium business.
They cover all your HR needs, with a combination of specialised staff and a customised cloud based platform.
If you employ, it’s important you review your risk before a disgruntled staff member causes concern?
Outsourcing your HR is worth the peace of mind and modest outlay to ensure you anticipate and remove staff issues.
HR Central’s moto is
“Your People, Our Solutions”
Damien shared how this moto came to be, the staff were asked to come up with ideas for their company’s moto. Damien made it like a game to see who would come up with a winner. The staff presented their suggestions on three typed pieces of paper. Then they voted on their favourites until there were only five ideas left. Out of the five, the top three were combined to form the moto they have today.
Great Tip
Actively involve your staff to encourage them to live your business.

How the business started and grew
HR Central come from a HR problem they had experienced and that’s where they discovered a need for an outsource HR specialist model. Upon starting HR Central the three directors already had IT based employees who they migrated over. Finding the right people, with the right values to fit the company culture is important. While experience and understanding as a consultant is essential, being familiar with the HR cloud platform was integral as well. Both the human aspect and software base needed to be complimented to give customers the best results.
Pain points of growth
Finding the right fit for your team
Getting the right people to surround you
Processing the right values
Fitting well into the company culture
Creating a team experience
Damien feels that incorporating a set process of training for new team members is essential. This helps them to identify their role and outlines what is expected of them clearly.
However, these processes can be fluid.
It is important to note down any headaches or pain points that arrive through the training process.
Then make time to review them with the team.
Damien explains that he does this in a open forum where staff can suggest and discuss alternatives.
Positive energy perpetuates
HR specialists are the ones working with clients all the time. In order to improve our software, they are encouraged to share customer feedback. These improvements might be in the form of more content, feature or a template. It’s very important to give all your team members a voice.
